Future Smartphones Will Be Secured By Your Fingerprints
Future smartphones will use biometric technology to give you more security. You will need to place your fingerprint on the phone sensor in order to unlock it. This is great, isn’t it?
According to Fingerprint Cards (a Swedish biometric-security company), a Japanese firm is planning to introduce new smartphones featuring fingerprint sensor technology. This type of phone will be very useful, especially for corporations that need secure communication through mobiles.
The phone generates electrical impulses as you put your finger on its sensitive sensor. The processor of the phone will then match your fingerprints with the ones stored in its database to give you access to the phone.
According to reports, Japanese companies ordered millions of smartphones to Fingerprint Cards in 2012. Moreover, the company started its business in Tokyo with an intention to meet the increasing demand for the inclusion of its fingerprint technology in tablets and smartphones.
However, there are no confirmed reports that the Japanese firm will have the majority of market share. Apple expressed its willingness to buy AuthenTec (a security technology firm), for $356 million in 2013. This company also offers both biometric security technology and fingerprint authentication technology. If this happens, the competition among tech firms is definitely going to get intense.
