Gardai to investigate phone hacking allegations amid City of Culture controversy

According to reports, the Gardai are going to look into allegations of cell phone hacking following Patricia Ryan's resignation from her CEO position. Read on to find out more.

Ms Ryan sent a formal complaint to the Gardai about the phone hacking. Many social media sites reported her departure many hours before an official statement was released.

According to reports in the Irish Independent, Ms Ryan is worried that her voicemail was hacked when the news of her stepping down was leaked online, and everyone came to know about the matter.

Over the weekend, the Facebook page of Limerick City of Culture was hacked, and the hacking allegations are the latest development in 2014.

Arrangements are being made to replace both Karl Wallace and Ms Ryan in the coming days. Karl Wallace is the Artistic Director, so the organization is going to take on new staff to replace them.

Before the end of the week, the positions will be re-advertised. It is also reported that Jimmy Deenihan is going to get in touch with the board and concerned parties to make changes to the arrangements for the celebrations.
